Description: Japanese Pagoda Tree, despite its name, is in fact native to Korea and China but not Japan. A medium to large tree, it is appreciated for the attractive foliage and fragrant flowers. Small, creamy white flowers bloom late summer in long, hanging clusters. Flowers are followed by bulging, bean-like pods resembling short strings of green beads that turn brown in fall and persist into winter. Leaves remain green late into fall and don’t really display any significant color.
