Description: Autumn Flowering Higan Cherry, is a medium-sized, deciduous tree from Japan with a profuse show of unscented, semi-double, pale pink flowers in spring, then an additional (but usually sparse) rebloom in the fall. This autumnal rebloom is where it derives its cultivar name, ‘Autumnalis’. Leaves turn yellow in fall, and the fruits are attractive to birds, but not visually significant. Although most all cherries are susceptible to many insects and diseases, Higan Cherry is generally considered to have good disease resistance.
