Description: Oriental Arborvitae is a dense, conical or columnar tree, or can be grown as a large shrub. The yellowish-green scale foliage (different in form to “needles”, scale leaves often occur in flattened sprays) becoming darker green with age, and may take on a bronze cast in winter. Compact cultivars are much more common in commerce than the wild species.
