Description: Northern Catalpa is a fairly large tree native to the United States. The attractive flowers in late spring are particularly noteworthy, bell-shaped and white with purple and yellow spotting inside. Equally interesting are the long, thin, green seedpods that resemble gigantic string beans, which turn brown in the fall and split open to release the seeds.
