Description: Scotch Pine is a fast-growing, medium sized conifer with characteristic flaking orangish bark. Native to Europe and Asia, the species has also naturalized in parts of the northeastern and north-central US. Scotch Pine generally present twisted, blue-green needles; light colored cones to about 3” long; and scaly orangish bark in the upper part of the tree, with darker bark at the base.
