Description: Pond Cypress is a conifer, which unlike the many evergreen conifers, is deciduous and sheds its needles. Its tendency to grow along the edges of ponds and lakes lend its common name. Although very similar to Bald Cypress, it is generally smaller, more slender, and tends to grow next to water in the wild, where Bald Cypress generally grow in the water.
