The Spring Historic Notables Walking Tour will take place at 2:00pm on Sunday, May 31, 2026. Registration will close after we reach our maximum of 35 guests for this event. As attendance is limited, we ask that you only register people who have committed to attending. If there is any change after registering, please let us know right away so that we may open up a spot for another attendee. Please submit a separate registration for each person attending.
The tour will be led by Dr. Barbara Burton, who has worked professionally in the online information industry and at the Rutgers School of Communication and Information. She has served on the WHS Board of Trustees, the Miller-Cory Board of Governors, has been a member of the Westfield Historic Preservation Commission, and was chair of the Westfield 300 Celebration, in addition to other professional, church, and community positions. Barbara recently curated an in-depth exhibit at Reeve House on the life and career of Virginia Apgar—one of the individuals featured on the Historic Notables Tour—and is author of a book about Westfield entitled The Fates Were Favorably Inclined.
